Job Summary
The job of Dropout Prevention Specialist is done for the purpose/s of providing support to students who have dropped out, or are at-risk of dropping out, of the educational system; providing information and/or referrals to community resources; addressing barriers to attendance and enhancing program services and participation. Incumbents in this classification provide direct academic support to students and teachers which directly supports learning. Dropout Prevention Specialists may be assigned to more than one school site.

Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Targeted job related education that meets organization prerequisite requirements. High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience working in a K-12 public school setting is preferred
LICENSE REQUIRED:
Valid California Driver’s License and Evidence of Insurability
Salary Info
Range 45. Includes paid holidays, paid vacation and great benefits (medical, dental, vision, life and flex-pay).
Comments and Other Information
It is important to note, to become an employee of Grossmont Union High School District, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $72 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost).
