Job Description:

As a Manager in our Technology and Transformation practice, you will lead and own large-scale consulting engagements that enable and drive significant changes to help our clients achieve their business goals. This is a client-facing, full-time role that requires the ability to lead complex, multi-workstream project engagements, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver results across diverse industries.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and deep hands-on project and program management experience, with a track record of helping organizations navigate transformation, improve performance, and solve business challenges. This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients supporting initiatives spanning the full spectrum of technology-related challenges – from strategy and advisory to implementation and delivery.

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage large-scale consulting and technology transformation projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Oversee project planning and execution, including work breakdown structures, resource allocation, project tracking, risk mitigation, and change management.
  • Deliver consulting engagements across:
    • Technology project delivery, including strategy, implementation, and integration – with accountability for scope, timeline, and team performance.
    • IT strategy and CIO advisory work, supporting clients in defining transformation roadmaps, governance models, and priorities.
    • Data, analytics, and AI initiatives – coordinating teams to deliver scalable data platforms and actionable insights.
    • Software application projects such as ERP, CRM, and cloud platform deployments, with full lifecycle management from initiation to post-launch support.
  • Apply deep technology and project management expertise to assess client operations, identify root causes, and develop actionable, results-oriented solutions.
  • Lead and own large-scale client initiatives and programs in support of Wavestone’s overall P&L and growth potential ensuring quality work, on time, and within budget. 
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Actively guide and participate in client engagement(s) to direct solution development and implementation. 
  • Create and develop business relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.  
  • Execute business development plans including lead qualification, problem/solution exploration, proposal generation and related client meetings. 
  • Contribute to business development goals established by leadership. 
  • Lead and motivate direct reports as well as client project team members. Provide regular feedback and development-focused coaching and mentoring. 
  • Support talent recruitment by acquiring and developing high potential talent. 
  • Facilitate client meetings and conversations that result in clear outcomes and mutual understanding. 
  • Develop clear and compelling business presentations/reviews for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop overall governance programs to effectively define, monitor, and support programs and strategies.
  • Continuously refine and implement project delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices within the practice.
  • Actively participate in and represent the company at business marketing events such as speaking engagements, networking events, executive events, and seminars.
Qualifications:

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a variety of disciplines to include computer science, Business, Engineering, Operations, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Master’s/MBA preferred. 

Required Experience  

  • Minimum 5 years of consulting experience with a strong emphasis on leading technology related program/project management initiatives across a variety of industries.
  • Proven ability to lead complex client engagements and deliver high-impact transformation programs on time and within scope.
  • Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet), and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success executing business development plans and goals. 
  • A focus on strategic planning including critical thinking, bringing structure to ambiguous situations, and leading toward a future vision.
  • Well-developed communications skills, including expertise in delivering compelling presentations to stakeholders. 
  • Effective problem resolution skills including the ability to break a problem down into solvable components. 
  • Demonstrated customer focus that conveys a genuine concern for customer needs and generates customer satisfaction.
  • People leadership including experience serving as a coach and mentor in support of individual and team development. 
  • Proven ability to build trusting interpersonal relationships, and model professional demeanor when faced with opposition, pressure, or stressful conditions. 
  • Ability to travel based on client requirements.

Preferred Experience  

  • 8+ years of experience leading consulting projects and programs, with a focus on technology-driven transformations across diverse industries.
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project management certifications strongly preferred.
  • Experience building a service offering or contributing to practice development.
  • Exposure to process improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma or Lean Sigma.
