Each subcontractor company shall employ one on-site- full-time professional Safety Manager who should possess: a recognized safety certification, safety, related degree. or an OSHA500 certificate; and have a minimum of five years of experience in construction safety, with three years of management experience.
The subcontractor’s Safety Manager shall help coordinate their company’s safety programs and ensure that the requirements of this SSEHSP plan are implemented as part of the Subcontractor’s project specific EHS plan requirements. The EHS manager is responsible for helping to ensure and verify that high hazard work is assessed, planned and set up safely (e.g., crane pick, fall protection, De-Install, line break, tie-in and LOTO, and similar high hazard type work). At a minimum, the EHS Manager shall review the controls for hazardous work, perform audits, and confirm OSHA and safe work compliance. EHS managers shall not preform dual roles as EHS and construction/ production functions.

Management of construction site safety
Leading Safety Meetings including JHA/JSA
Ensuring compliance of construction site equipment and documentation – Assured Grounding, PPE, Ladders, Equipment, Vehicles, etc.
Conduct detailed site safety and health inspections
Complete appropriate company safety and health programs
Develop and implement site safety practices
Analyze data generated by safety and health studies to ensure safe work environment
Identify and analyze complex compliance and personal safety risks
Ensure compliance to local, regional, national, corporate, and client policies and regulations
Lead investigations, root cause analysis and action plan development and implementation post near-miss or incident
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
PrTo qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements:
5+ years experience as a safety professional on heavy industrial projects
3+ years of safety management experience
Construction experience required
Possess a recognized safety certification, safety, related degree. or an OSHA500 certificate
Minimum of OSHA 30 certification
Work toward a CSP Certification a plus
Documented experience on large industrial construction projects as a safety professional
Ability to perform and manage multiple and varied tasks in an industrial construction environment
First Aid / CPR / AED qualified
