We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Proposal Development Intern with a passion for writing, analysis, and strategy to join our Business Development Team.

So, what will the Proposal Development Intern at Terrestris do?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern with a passion for writing, analysis, and strategy to join our Business Development Team. This role will support the development of competitive proposals for government contracts by assisting with research, compliance checks, writing/editing, and document preparation. The intern will gain hands-on experience in the federal contracting lifecycle, working closely with proposal managers, business development staff, and subject matter experts. This role is primarily in-office at our Springfield, VA headquarters, with 1–2 telework days per week.
What does a typical day look like for a Proposal Development Intern?
You will:·
- Support proposal development, technical writing, and editing·
- Conduct data and price analysis, competitive intelligence, and research using GovWin, GovTribe, and SAM.gov·
- Collaborate with team partners, subject matter experts, and executives to produce compelling, compliant proposals·
- Manage partner data calls and ensure alignment with strategy, win themes, and discriminators·
- Assist in strategy development, policy input, and creation of high-quality proposal graphics and charts·
- Stay current on trends and developments in the federal contracting market
What qualifications do you look for?

- Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, English, or related writing-intensive field
- Strong passion for writing, editing, and research
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Apps
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interact with diverse personalities and build effective working relationships
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and eager to learn
- Strong work ethics are a must
