The role you’ll contribute:
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for receiving referral requests, obtaining physician approval, processing medical records requests pertaining to referrals and processing the referral. Schedules appointments with the referral when necessary. Serves as liaison between patient and medical support staff with regards to referrals.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Takes accurate and legible messages, which include time, date and initials.
· Answers non-clinical questions for patients and family members and routes all other calls correctly.
· Understands guidelines for and appropriately uses the telephone system.
· Obtains physician approval for referrals and hospital admissions.
· Contacts insurance company for referral number or pre-certification/authorization.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· Experience with computers is required.Insurance Verification experience required
