Your Mission: The Vice President of Information Technology (IT) is accountable for strategic and operational leadership across all IT functions ensuring the planning, execution, and management of technology infrastructure, security, services, and solutions. Assisting the Chief Optimization Officer, this role works closely with other functions of the organization to direct the planning of both short and long-term systems strategies and disseminates information to facilitate transparency and visibility across the broader Sun Health organization(s) while providing service excellence. This role requires a results-oriented, hands-on and experienced leader with a solid track record of making technology improvements, driving positive change, and developing a strong technology team.

The VP of IT will have deep technical, architecture, and strategic thinking capabilities, while confidently interacting with executive stakeholders. This leader will be critical to driving technological innovation throughout the organization, functioning as a consultant to technology and business leaders on implications of existing, new, and emerging technologies. The ideal leader will also have a keen eye towards customer focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads all IT operations requirements for the organization - technology planning, availability of systems, performance, and security.
  • In partnership with the CTIO, helps establish the strategic direction of the company's IT systems and resources; executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership and oversees technical projects in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identifies and recommends new technologies, solutions, and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations; reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.
  • Manages and leads information security resources, cloud technologies and solutions, project management, enterprise architecture, business systems and applications, clinical applications, enterprise solutions, systems network, administration and engineering, integration/data/reporting, and incident response (service desk).
  • Oversees business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or unplanned events.
  • Provides recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure and IT technology services such as automation, data strategies, and cloud, enterprise solutions.
  • Leads enterprise efforts for business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Technologies including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, and other corporate computing technologies.
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
  • Facilitates and manages IT security audits and investigations, takes appropriate action as needed to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
  • Develops and manages relationships with external IT solutions providers and third-party vendors critical to the health of Sun Health's technology environment.
  • Works with community leaders and stakeholders to address technology needs for non-corporate users.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Microsoft and Project Management Certifications highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years technology experience encompassing network and systems administration, business systems support, and information security accountabilities.
  • Minimum of 10 years in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality industries.
  • Applicable knowledge of NIST, HIPAA, PCI and other best practices and regulations.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • Working experience with Aruba, Cisco, FortiGate, network routing, switching, WAN, SDWAN, VLAN, and other internetworking technologies.
  • Experience with core IT infrastructure systems and network architecture.
  • Experience with implementation and management of Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with DNS (private and public).
  • Strong foundational and working experience with modern analytics, business intelligence, and automation.
  • Conceptual understanding of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and its application to business computing environments.
  • Hands on experience with software and solutions development oversight, DevOps, and agile solutions methodologies.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation in healthcare and business environments centered around core systems such as EMRs, Practice Management (PMS), Billing, HRIS, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems.
  • Knowledge of Mimecast or similar email security providers.
  • Knowledge of change management systems and project management systems.
  • Deep knowledge of network security principles and network best practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement risk assessments and contingency plans.
  • Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including Aruba, FortiGate, Cisco and HP gear is a plus.
