Job: Recycler – 1st Shift

Location: TEQ – A Toppan Co.
11320 E. Main Street, Huntley, IL
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 5:00 am – 3:30 pm (Monday – Thursday)
Needs to be flexible on hours (to cover 2nd shift at times)
Rate: $24.61 (depending on experience)
Summary
With general supervision, responsible for all material handling (either by hand, hand truck, electronic hand truck, or forklift) in the production area.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Distributes the materials required for each set up.
Transports all raw materials and finished goods in a timely and efficient manner.
Collects, inspects, divides, and quarantines materials as needed prior to bailing and/or grinding materials.
Properly labels and sorts bailed/grinded materials.
Assists with the inspection, packing, and box assembly as needed.
Assists Quality with sampling programs as needed.
Provides and ensures preventive maintenance on bailers and grinders.
Accurately scans boxed or bailed materials.
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Physical and Visual Activities/Demands
Standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, reading, writing, and talking.
Carrying and/or lifting up to 75 pounds.
Pushing up to 100 pounds.
Pulling up to 100 pounds.
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic knowledge of and aptitude for mechanical principles.
Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good manual dexterity and agility.
Good computer skills.
Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
Forklift training certification.
Machines, Tools, and Equipment
Basic shop equipment.
Forklifts, pallet jacks, and stackies.
Utility knives.
Computer.
Scan gun.
Environmental Demands
Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, heat, cold, chemicals, greases, and lubricants.
Skills
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area.
Efficiently and safely completes all assignments.
Safely operates all manual and electronic forklifts.
Safely and properly uses all tools and shop equipment.
Completes paperwork accurately and in full.
Efficiently distributes and organizes materials, cartons, and pallets.
Develops good working relationships with managers and lead staff.
Assists other recycling personnel on projects.
