Lyngblomsten currently has a Temporary Position available. We are looking for a Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator to cover a medical leave, starting immediately. This position will be through the end of October. The schedule is 40 hours per week/ Tuesday-Saturday schedule. We are looking for a creative, energetic, and organized Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator to work with our residents in our Long-Term Care neighborhood on our 2nd floor. This position reports to the Therapeutic Recreation Director.

The posted pay range of this position is $19.55 to $29.79/hr. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.

Qualifications

·     Four-year degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field preferred.

·     CTRS preferred

·     Experience conducting memory care and dementia programming a plus

·     Experience working with older adults 

·     Minimum of two year-five years of experience in the human services field, preferably in a long-term care setting.

·     Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s terminology a plus

·     Knowledge and experience conducting Recreation and leisure assessments

·     Knowledge and experience conducting the MDS 3.0 assessment

·     Knowledge and experience working with Point Click Care

·     Will be driving the campus bus on monthly outings and must have a good driving record.  A standard driver’s license is required to drive the bus

·     This position works Tuesday- Saturday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Duties

·     Plan and conduct a balanced therapeutic recreation program based on the needs and interests of residents: including 1:1’s

·     Communicate, work, and plan cooperatively with other Therapeutic Recreation coordinators, neighborhood staff, and other departments.

·     Ask residents to do activities of interest and assist them to get there.

·     Keep daily activity attendance records.

·     Supervise volunteers assigned to an area and assist as needed.

·     Use good public relations techniques throughout total job functions.
