Duties
You will serve as an Aircraft Electrician and be responsible for performing Aircraft Electrician journey level duties, and training others in that trade or other trades. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Testing, troubleshooting, analyzing, modifying, and repairing complex electrical systems and components. Assisting engineering personnel in developing modifications and changes on electrical, electronic, instrument, and other integrated electrical systems. Manufacturing a variety of aircraft specific or specialized ''breakout boxes" and panels to facilitate testing of electrical systems. Aligning, adjusting, and performing final calibrations on electrical systems, parallel generator units, and sets voltages in AC inverts, DC regulators and generators. Installing non-conventional electrical power and related equipment by routing and connecting wiring to new or existing electrical or electronic systems, components, or equipment. Using HAZMAT/Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to identify hazards and properties of specific hazardous materials and wastes.
Requirements
