Position Summary The Courier is responsible for transporting documents, supplies, and equipment between district locations in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This position also maintains the district warehouse, manages supply inventory, assists with seasonal grounds needs, and ensures compliance with all safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
Pick up and deliver mail, payroll, monies, and other sensitive or time-sensitive documents.
Make bank deposits as assigned.
Order, deliver, and maintain supplies and inventory in the warehouse.
Ensure accurate supply inventory counts at schools.
Clean, organize, and maintain the warehouse environment.
Pick up and deliver equipment and perform special deliveries as requested.
Assist with snow, ice, and debris removal around the warehouse.
Perform routine scheduled maintenance checks for the courier vehicle and report issues promptly.
Follow all safety policies and procedures; report hazards or conditions needing repair.
Practice energy conservation measures in daily operations.
Considered essential staff during emergencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions.
Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, or solvents.
Work in stockroom/warehouse environment with high dust and dirt levels.
Occasional outdoor work in heat, cold, dampness, and/or humidity.
Physical Effort
Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying.
Heavy lifting of up to 80 lbs or more.
Use of ladders, scaffolds, forklifts, and truck lifts to move items up to 2,000 lbs.
Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and handling materials with dexterity.
Driving large vans and box trucks regularly.
Minimum Job Requirements Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience driving large vans and box trucks preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-hire/post-offer physical examination.
MSDS Chemical Right-to-Know training (prior to first assignment).
AHERA (asbestos) training within 60 working days of employment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic problem-solving skills.
Safe operation of vehicles, warehouse equipment, and tools.
Ability to use a forklift and truck lift safely.
Proficiency with computers, including email, Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse individuals.
Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
Ability to follow multi-step written and verbal instructions.
Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
Decision Making
Work is primarily routine, with occasional non-standard assignments.
Methods and procedures are usually prescribed by the supervisor. Limited independent judgment required.
