Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal and external
program to provide financial assistance to the education foundation and the district.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public relations, communications, or a related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrable record of successful marketing, communications, grant writing, and fundraising
Ability to create, organize, and implement community events and activities
Ability to work collaboratively with business, community, and public entities
Knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting requirements
Knowledge of endowment fund management
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including speaking to large audiences
Ability to work independently with little direction
Experience:

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
1. Manage the foundation, including fund development, public relations, communications, and strategic
planning.
2. Manages and directs the foundation’s process of awarding grants to promote the district’s core
mission
3. Coordinate all meetings and functions of the foundation’s board of directors.
4. Assist the board of directors to develop a strategic plan and annual goals and monitor progress of
short- and long-term goals.

5. Oversee the administrative tasks required to carry out the foundation’s mission and objectives.
6. Plan and execute fundraising activities and events.
Corporate and Community Relations
7. Develop and maintain effective relationships with area businesses and community organizations on
behalf of the district and the Foundation.
8. Manage and implement the district-wide school and corporate partnership program, involving the
business community in the support of the district’s mission and objectives.
9. Raise public awareness of the foundation and the district through presentations to clubs and
organizations, publications, and special programs.
10. Develop and maintain an effective social media-marketing plan across multiple platforms.
11. Work with the district’s communication department as appropriate to implement district and
Foundation programs and objectives.
Advertising and Marketing
12. Develop and implement direct marketing programs and events to cultivate, motivate, and solicit
individual, foundation, and corporate donors and partners.
13. Manage, coordinate, and implement all aspects of foundation advertising, including identifying market
potential and developing and executing marketing plans and programs.
14. Serve as official representative and spokesperson for the Foundation.
Budget
15. Develop and administer budgets based upon documented needs and ensure operations are cost
effective and funds are managed prudently.
16. Research and identify grant opportunities, prepare grant applications, and supervise all foundation
grant activities.
17. Manage and direct the foundation’s process of awarding grants to promote the district’s core mission.
Policy, Reports, and Law
18. Manage foundation legal documents and maintain the not-for-profit status. Compile, maintain and file
all reports, records and other documents as required.
19. Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board
policy.
20. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
