Position Description

Major/Essential Functions
- Registers and schedules patient appointments for office visits accurately and efficiently in the EMR and billing system
- Receives incoming calls Verifies and updates managed care plan and/or insurance information into patient account
- Scans accurately all necessary paperwork, forms an patient information into correct file folder in EHR Plus other duties Cashier and prepares daily deposits
- Responsible for collecting patients co-payments, payment for services rendered, and/or outstanding balances
- Arrives and No-Shows appointments daily after each clinic session for the end of the month statistical departmental report
- Trains existing and/or new employees in the registration and processing of patients or in any other job related duties
- Provides cross-training to staff within different clinic areas
- Verifies, updates and optimizes the patient schedule daily
- Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position
- Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.)
- Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic office equipment and computer skills; email, PC, Telephone, 0-Key, Excel, Word
- Knowledge of various managed care plans and private insurances
- Knowledge of referral and authorization processes
- Proficient professional telephone skills, ability to interact effectively and efficiently with others
- Ability to work in a busy environment
- Ability to understand and follow instructions; some familiarity with dental procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of people
- Work closely with staff, manager, supervisor, dental students, and administration
- Bilingual capability. English and Spanish
- Willing to work M-F 0800-1700, some extended hours and holidays are possible
- Minimal one year dental office experience and working knowledge of dental billing codes (CDT)
