Summary:

The Director of  Clinical Trial Strategy is a pivotal, cross-functional partner who ensures that every study we pursue is not only feasible on paper but positioned for real-world recruitment success. This role sits at the intersection of Commercial, Business Development, and Recruitment Operations - translating complex study protocols into clear, actionable plans that drive patient enrollment, optimize funnel performance, and deliver on client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

•Serve as a strategic partner to Commercial, Business Development, and Recruitment teams to review protocols, break down eligibility criteria, and identify opportunities where our sites can deliver strong enrollment performance.

•Conduct high-level protocol assessments to understand study fit based on site capabilities, patient access, historical enrollment trends, and competitive therapeutic area insights.

•Develop and implement comprehensive, study-specific recruitment strategies that connect upfront protocol insights to real-world operational execution, ensuring alignment of timelines, budgets, and performance marketing plans.

•Provide strategic input on realistic recruitment timelines and expected randomization rates, using evidence-based assumptions and historical data to build credible forecasts.

•Use data to monitor patient flow through the recruitment funnel, pinpoint where drop-offs occur, and lead efforts to adjust targeting, messaging, or operational processes to improve conversion rates.

•Develop cohort strategies that connect related studies and enable patients to be considered across multiple protocols, matching them to the best fit based on eligibility criteria to maximize enrollment efficiency.

•Partner cross-functionally with Patient Recruitment, Performance Marketing, and Site Operations teams to deliver on recruitment goals and ensure seamless execution from initial outreach through randomization.

•Build and maintain strong working relationships with Commercial and Business Development teams to ensure feasibility insights are continuously applied to new opportunities and ongoing study performance.

•Continuously analyze trends in study design, eligibility, and treatment settings to inform future strategy and keep Alliance’s approach competitive and data-driven.

•Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot studies that are underperforming and implement practical solutions to meet recruitment goals.


Qualifications & Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

•Proven background in clinical trial feasibility, patient recruitment strategy, or trial management within the clinical research industry.

•Deep understanding of the end-to-end patient recruitment funnel and experience optimizing performance at each stage.

•Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret historical data and apply it to pricing, forecasting, and scenario planning.

•Experience working cross-functionally with Business Development, Marketing, Operations, and Site Teams.

•Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; capable of translating complex protocols into practical action steps for diverse audiences.
