ROLE SUMMARY:
The Driver Supervisor reporting directly to the Logistics and Operations Manager is responsible for the on-time delivery of products to our customers. Making sure all Drivers are representing Eagle to our customers and should provide safe, timely, and professional service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a group of 10-12 Delivery Drivers (CDL-Commercial Driver’s License certified) and Box truck drivers
- Assist with customer calls regarding deliveries and ensures 100% customer service
- Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily
- Work proactively with Operations and Logistics Manager to understand the needs of the customers and sales force
- Coach, lead and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity via gate-to-gate route rides twice a week, minimum
- 2 coaching a month per driver as part of the market inspections, log in Encompass/Fleet Verification
- Ensure compliance of Department of Transportation and Eagle safety standards
- Conduct daily team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced
- Possess strong organizational and prioritizing skills
- Have a highly developed sense of urgency
- Demonstrated results in improving business performance through leadership
- Possess very strong organizational and prioritizing skills
- Assist with annual reviews of drivers and helpers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 21 years or older
- Pass the required drug test and physical capabilities test (if applicable)
- Valid CDL license
- Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test
- Follow DOT Regulations
- 3+ years of operating with CDL-A
- Prior driver supervisor experience preferred.
- Operating handheld computers (e.g., inputting data, entering transactions, printing, etc.)
- Operating equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
- Ability to perform lifting, loading, and pushing/pulling a significantly high volume of cases per day ranging from 20-45 pounds per case repeatedly during work hours (8-10)
- It also requires reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering and merchandising products in the store and delivering products across a wide variety of weather conditions
