THE JOB
The Art Curator is responsible for the Art by ADEC retail space including, but not limited to, inventory of art, creating attractive displays, providing exceptional customer services, and maintaining the art room. The Art Curator is a back-up for the Barista position in the Gaining Grounds Coffee Shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and assisting with purchases using a positive and approachable manner.
- Rotate works of art in the retail space, identifying and reporting gaps in displays where art need to be replaced.
- Acquire, collect, catalog, and organize works of art.
- Work with Day Program locations on initiating and scheduling projects.
- Input works of art onto the Art by ADEC website and maintain inventory.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Operate coffee brewer and other related equipment in the Gaining Grounds Coffee Shop.
- Operate cash register and count change accurately.
- Assist the development of Gaining Grounds interns by training interns on Coffee Shop operations and daily tasks.
- Help develop new educational and growth opportunities with the community to expand customer choices and meet customer needs.
- Work with the Social Enterprise Manager to maintain and increase profitability of the art.
- Maintain and follow cleaning and disease prevention policies as set forth by ADEC, under the guidance from The Center for Disease Control and local Health Department, to mitigate the risk of spreading contagious diseases. This includes cleaning and sterilizing of workspace, materials used during active treatment, end of day cleaning and pick up, and good hygiene. PPE will be worn as required and social distancing followed as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with customers and other ADEC team members.
- Successful completion of all required training both upon hire and annually required per ADEC, CARF and other regulatory agencies. This includes agency training and client specific training.
- Ability to function effectively as a team player and to treat everyone with respect and dignity as specified in ADEC’s Code of Ethics and Mission.
- Ability to represent ADEC in dress, manner, and attitude.
- Willingness to learn safe operating procedures for electric coffee machine and blender.
- No evidence of illegal drug use or abuse. Must pass drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, proof of insurance.
- No evidence of criminal activity involving a dependent population or any violent criminal activity.
- Current ServSafe Certification, or willingness to obtain with ADEC’s assistance upon hire.
- All ADEC employees may need to wear PPE, such as a cloth and/or surgical mask, in order to follow the Center for Disease Control and local Health Department guidelines to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.
