Currently hiring Industrial Mechanics to join our team in Richmond, VA. As an Industrial mechanic your primary responsibilities are providing installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of overhead cranes, hoists, and related material handling and mechanical equipment. The ideal Industrial Mechanic candidate will possess strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service. Pay is $30 - $40 per hour based on skill set and experience.

Industrial Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Inspect overhead industrial cranes, hoists, and mechanical equipment to verify safety and compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and manufacturer standards
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, including AC/DC systems and motor controls (up to 480VAC 3-phase)
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on cranes and related equipment
  • Install, rebuild, and modify mechanical and electrical systems, including new machinery and components
  • Support installation of new equipment, ensuring proper setup and operation
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory and documentation
  • Evaluate and recommend repairs or modifications for optimal operation
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Industrial Mechanic Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a crane service technician and/or industrial mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, motor controls, and troubleshooting 480VAC 3-phase systems.
  • Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility and production mechanical equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and OEM specifications
  • Basic electrical skills; industry-specific tools preferred (own tools required)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted, push/pull up to 300 pounds, and perform physical activities such as bending, reaching, climbing, and twisting
  • Willingness to travel and work in production and industrial environments, with some overnight travel possible
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction

Physical & Working Conditions:

  • Standing and walking for 95% of the day
  • Frequently working at heights and in varying weather conditions
  • Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity required
  • Exposure to hot and cold environments, and industrial noise

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • Monday through Friday
  • Overtime and weekends as needed
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift available
  • Swing shift as needed
