The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and is a key component to the overall quality system. Activities and Responsibilities include:
- Perform dimensional inspections on product received
- Review material certifications and test reports for compliance to requirements
- Perform first piece inspections on assembled products
- Generate PPAP packages
- Monitor gage calibrations
- Perform internal systems audits
- Assist in identifying and dispositioning nonconforming product
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Education:
- A minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Preference for a two or four-year degree in a correlating discipline
- Prefer experience within the fastener industry
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality lab environment with an emphasis on dimensional inspection, including PPAP analysis, against blueprint/drawing specifications
- Experience using various testing equipment, including, but not limited to calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, thread gauges, optical comparators, etc.
- Preference for experience in, or a working knowledge of, ISO 9001:2008 and/or ISO 9001 disciplines
- Preference for experience in, and a working knowledge of, fastener related specifications such as but not limited to: ASTM, ASME, IFI, MIL, DIN
- Experience in conducting internal or external audits for conformance to given standards
- Experience in addressing non-conforming product issues and performing 8D corrective actions
Professional Skills:
- Skilled in blueprint reading, inspection techniques, and understanding manufacturing processes
- Efficient in time management, with the ability to efficiently see numerous tasks through to completion
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Must be detail-oriented
Position: Full-time
Hourly Pay: $26.00-$31.00
Work Hours: 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday
