Position:            F & B Attendant

Department:      Food & Beverage
Job Summary:   Provides beverage service to guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner displaying a high standard of guest service  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures food and drink are delivered accurately and in a timely manner to guests.
  2. Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to guests using a guest’s name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
  3. Communicates with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times.
  4. Makes guests feel appreciated through actions; offers assistance before it is requested.
  5. Anticipates guests’ needs by being alert to signals such as their raising a hand; acknowledges guests so they know the signal was observed.
  6. Mixes, garnishes, and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests following standard recipes.
  7. Rings drink orders into point-of-sale system immediately, collecting money for drinks served, and making change.
  8. Works with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked in accord with departmental standards at all times.
  9. Performs opening and closing inventories of spirits.
  10. Teams with others to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient beverage service.
  11. Teams with others to maintain an attractive bar display in accord with departmental standards.
  12. Ensures cleanliness of the bar area and glassware.
  13. Complies with State alcohol serving requirements.
  14. Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  15. Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
  16. Requests supervisor assistance when needed for an uncooperative guest or when unable to fulfill a request.
  17. Demonstrates positive, interpersonal skills with guests and team members.
  18. Functions as a supportive team member during shifts.
  19. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  20. Provide fast (20 minutes or less round time), friendly, courteous, professional beverage service to casino guests.
  21. Must be willing to work all shifts.
  22. Picks up empty glasses and returns them to the proper area.
  23. Assists in the preparation of drink orders as required (icing glasses, garnishing drinks).
  24. Works in assigned area, taking drink orders, presenting drinks to customers, accepting payment, and giving change when necessary.
  25. Maintains a clean station at all times and performs assigned side work duties such as stocking coffee, glasses, cream, sugar, beverage napkins, etc.
  26. Cleans and replaces dirty ashtrays.
  27. Must possess a cooperative and friendly nature.
  28. Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
  29. Must present a clean and well-groomed appearance.
  30. Must possess sound, mature judgment, and monitor guests’ consumption of alcoholic beverages and intervening as necessary following alcohol awareness guidelines.
  31. Follow and practice all alcoholic beverage laws, policies, and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively.
  3. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  5. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  6. Ability to operate all equipment used at the bars, such as blenders and cash terminals.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  9. Ability to cheerfully handle stress in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Ability to maintain the physical stamina required, including an ability to stand for long periods.
  11. Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  12. Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
  13. Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits as well as standard drink recipes.
  14. Knowledge of applicable health standards and workplace safety procedures.
  15. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as well as Casino Del Sol internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  16. Strong communication skills.
  17. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  18. Skill in providing exceptional guest service and a desire to provide leadership to position the property to achieve excellence in service and quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience in the food service industry.
  2. Must have experience in inventory control.
  3. Must obtain valid food handler’s and alcohol awareness cards within 90 days of employment.
  4. Computer proficiency with Agilysys Point of Sale System.
  5. Demonstrated track record of reliability, responsiveness, and punctuality.
  6. Demonstrated track record of providing excellent guest service.
  7. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
  8. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  9. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.
  10. Must be 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High School or General Equivalency Diploma
  2. Certification from an accredited or state licensed bartending school OR six (6) months bartending experience OR bar back experience, including a combination of (3) months guest service and money handling experience.
  3. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  4. One (1) year high volume bar experience.
