This position is responsible for identifying issues and eliminating wasteful activities in multiple parts distribution centers ("PDCs"). Utilize information collected in time studies and cost analyses to create business cases that support process changes and investments in equipment to further drive continuous improvement.

Position offers an annual salary of $122,729.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Responsible for identifying issues and eliminating wasteful activities in multiple parts distribution centers ("PDCs"). Utilize information collected in time studies and cost analyses to create business cases that support process changes and investments in equipment to further drive continuous improvement. Optimize PDC network performance, cost and contribute to company goal of becoming the undisputed market leader. Design PDC Layouts to maximize flow and efficiency and contribute to the company’s goal of becoming an undisputed market leader in the industry. Provide project management for network standardization by identifying problems, collecting and analyzing data from the Warehouse Management System to determine the impact and benefits of changes on the daily operation and workforce. Establish engineering standards for visibility of labor management and continuous improvement activity for all PDC’s and network standardization. Maintain asset lists. Maximize usage of material handling equipment. Justify spending to finance for capital expenses. Define goals and objectives, start and end dates, and time and resources needed for the project. Calculate the payback period, submit Engineer Change Requests (“ECRs”), and collaborate with vendors to procure quotes and create Purchase Requisitions. Confirm the lead time, schedule the implementation based on resources available, and track the progress of the project from beginning to closing, update the team accordingly. Perform standardization audits to ensure the standard work and process is the same across the locations and eliminates waste. Identify discrepancies in the standards and make changes to the process accordingly to ensure alignment with the network standard.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 2 years (24 months) of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience must include: experience with CAD.
  • Domestic and international travel required, up to 10%.
