The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the warehouse to ensure efficient workflow, safety compliance, and team performance. This hands-on role supports warehouse management by coordinating tasks, monitoring inventory movement, and guiding warehouse associates to meet productivity and quality standards. The position also requires regular operation of warehouse equipment and machinery to support daily tasks and assist where needed.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates during assigned shift
- Assign and monitor daily tasks such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory, and replenishment
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and quality standards
- Provide training and support to new and existing team members
- Perform routine inspections to ensure accuracy of orders and inventory levels
- Operate and ensure safe use of warehouse machinery and equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools
- Communicate with supervisors, logistics teams, and other departments to coordinate workflow
- Monitor attendance and productivity; report performance issues to management
- Support inventory counts and cycle counts as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Assist in resolving issues related to shipments, delays, or damaged goods
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of warehouse experience, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, and equipment
- Demonstrated experience with operating warehouse machinery and tools
- Forklift certification (preferred or required based on location)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office (preferred)
