This is a hybrid position for individuals residing in Travis County (TX). In this position individuals may work at an approved off-site location and on-site at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.
The Manager of Health and Wellness Programs will provide strategic and operational leadership for the design,
delivery, and continuous improvement of health and wellness initiatives across Central Health sites. This role is
responsible for managing a portfolio of community-focused programs and services, ensuring alignment with
organizational goals and consistent, high-quality execution across locations.
Key responsibilities include overseeing resource navigation systems, coordinating cross-sector partnerships, and
implementing new programmatic requirements through effective change management. The ideal candidate will
bring strong program management expertise, experience leading teams, and a deep commitment to advancing
community health and health equity.
Program Leadership & Management:
- Provide strategic direction for the design, implementation, and evaluation of health and wellness programs,
ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and responsiveness to community needs. - Lead resource planning, budget oversight, and performance management to drive operational excellence and
measurable health outcomes across all program areas. - Champion innovation by identifying and advancing new opportunities for services and partnerships that strengthen
Central Health’s impact and community presence.
Team Leadership & Execution:
- Manage and support the team responsible for executing health and wellness programs, ensuring they have the
tools, training, and resources to deliver quality services. - Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment focused on program goals, staff development, and
service excellence. - Work closely with internal teams to streamline processes and identify new opportunities to improve service
delivery and client outcomes.
Stakeholder & Partner Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other
stakeholders to expand and enhance program offerings. - Actively engage with partners to introduce new services and ensure programs are aligned with evolving community
needs. - Advocate for health and wellness priorities and collaborate with external partners to drive positive community
impact.
Strategy & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodology to enhance program effectiveness, streamline
operations, and reduce inefficiencies. - Ensure adaptability to community needs and compliance with industry standards, while using data-driven insights
to evaluate program success and make informed decisions. - Drive change management processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and alignment with organizational goals.
Communication:
- Serve as a key liaison between Central Health, community partners, and internal teams to ensure clear, consistent
communication of health and wellness program goals, updates, and outcomes. - Manage the Communications and Outreach vision to support public awareness campaigns, community engagement
strategies, and culturally responsive messaging. - Ensure program materials, outreach content, and service information are accurate, accessible, and aligned with
Central Health’s mission and brand.
Resource Assessment, Collaboration & Advocacy:
- Assess local, state, and other funding sources and service offerings to ensure resources are distributed effectively
across programs and community needs. Collaborate with both internal and external partners to ensure efficient
use of available resources, avoiding duplication and maximizing impact. Strategically align funding, services, and
advocacy efforts to support program goals, enhance overall service delivery, and increase awareness and support
for health and wellness programs in the community.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Public Health, Communications, Social Work or Related Field - Required
- Master's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Public Health, Program Management, or a related field - Preferred
Work Experience:
- 5 years of experience in program management, public health or affairs, or a related field - Required
- 3 years of experience managing a team and leading a health-related program - Required
- Experience working in community health or with underserved populations - Required
