The Project Engineer II is responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the Product Development Process (PDP) as a guide to achieve project objectives for New Product Development projects with a focus in CIP. This role is responsible for product maintenance, cost improvement, quality improvement and similar projects. Coordinates and collaborates with the project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments.
This position will serve our Raypak Division, located in Oxnard, CA.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Manage the process in the CIP phases that include planning, execution, deliverables and actions.
Create/Maintain current project status information, technical reviews, and future resource allocation projections to organize information for visibility to the organization
Train and coach globally to ensure alignment and consistency in the CIP process.
Audit and recommend necessary infrastructure investment needed to execute on all CIP projects
Prepare and present progress reports and project summaries to management and cross-functional team covering all phases of the project.
Collaborate with employees assigned to the project group and support them with the fulfillment of the assigned projects.
Support with the coordination of the design, development, manufacture, test, and delivery of projects.
Perform research and testing on potential designs as they relate to numerous requirements including agency, shop, fit, cost, strength, and schedule.
Coordinates such activities with purchasing, accounting, contract administration, manufacturing, outside vendors and plant security to ensure successful completion of projects with constraints
Direct preparation of reports, including records of drawings released material list, trouble reports, changes in service and performance data and delivery information.
Prepare progress reports to management covering all phases of the project. Investigate and troubleshoot serious product design related problems and opportunities, documenting finds and performing corrective/improvement changes.
Manage projects of large and small scale, to ensure project is executed within time, cost and budget constraints.

Approve Engineering Change Notices.
Investigate pertinent factors such as interchangeability, service requirements, efficiency and agency requirements.
Evaluate products for ease of manufacturability, cost and performance.
Apply physical, chemical and mathematical concepts to solve design problems, and the creation of new designs.
Ensure to carry out all daily activities with integrity, while always keeping safety in mind.
Stay on top of all established criteria and maintain a culture of order and cleanliness.
Qualifications
What You Need:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering
· 3-5 years of related experience in project management or related field
· Strong team/group management skills
· Strong communication/presentation skills with experience in presenting information to top management
· Experience in evaluating products for manufacturability, cost and performance
· Experience in investigating, troubleshooting, documenting, and performing corrective actions in product designs
· Strong intra/intercompany and external coordination skills
· Experience working with outside vendors
· Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
· Strong reasoning and analytical skills
· Experience in engineering/manufacturing change processes
· Experience, troubleshooting, documenting, and performing corrective actions in product designs
· Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment
How To Stand Out:
· BS Mechanical Engineering
· Experience in cross-functional project management education or training
· Working knowledge of UL and CSA standards
· Experience in design training
· Working knowledge solids modeling software.
The pay scale for this position in California is $79,272 - $110,000. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated, and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
