Job Description:
As a Senior Accountant at Easy Street Capital, you will convert detailed loan-level data from multiple sources into timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements. We are looking for a highly organized and driven individual to join our Accounting Team at the premier private lender in Texas. You’ll get to work at a fun, fast-paced, and growing company in one of our vibrant downtown offices, or as a remote worker.
Responsibilities will be focused on financial reporting, while also providing cross-functional support to operational teams and seeking to proactively add value to the Easy Street Capital debt platform.
$70,000 - $100,000 per year, plus annual bonus (bonus amount/percentage to be determined based on level of experience)
Responsibilities
Be an essential part of our month-end close process by recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, conducting flux analyses, and ensuring close is timely
Be a key player in developing process improvements to streamline close and build scalable solutions to support the growth of Easy Street Capital
Majorly contribute to external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
Compile support for various tax filings and own assigned regulatory reporting tasks
Assist in researching technical accounting matters
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of Leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting required; CPA (active) preferred; Master’s is a nice to have
5+ years of accounting experience required; prior loan accounting experience would be great; prior experience accounting for FinTechs, securitization trusts, and/or working in dynamic start up and/or high growth company environments is a plus
Proficiency in Excel is required (there is a test); experience with BI tools is preferred; basic understanding of SQL, middleware applications, and/or data science in general is a nice to have
Prior experience working with Quickbooks is strongly preferred
Previous technical accounting experience in the following areas is a plus: revenue recognition (ASC 606), servicing and transfers (ASC 860), consolidations (ASC 810), FVO (ASC 825), and/or equity and equity-linked financial instruments (ASC 480)
