About the Role
The Director, Digital Marketing leads the web and social media teams, and is responsible for developing and delivering a university-wide vision for digital marketing at SFU. This includes establishing strong partnerships across SFU, advocating for user experience and audience-focused channels, setting a bold course for web, and being ahead of trends in social media.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a broad range of stakeholders and leading change through complex issues. The role is fast-paced and requires a candidate who can set a vision while overseeing multiple campaigns, supporting a team, participating in committee work, and ensuring all the day-to-day tasks are aligned to the overall brand and marketing strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field and seven years of related professional experience, including experience in developing and implementing marketing and communications plans and budgets or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Establish a vision and plan for digital marketing at SFU, aligned to the reputation strategy and the university's strategic plan.
- Oversee the creation and management of comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns to support critical digital marketing and organizational priorities, goals and key initiatives.
- Foster a network of influential relationships across the university and with colleagues to achieve digital and university
wide mandates, goals and initiatives. - Oversee a team of marketing and communication professionals, building cross functional awareness and contributions to meet needs and requirements
