Position Overview: Are you ready to take the lead in optimizing safe mining operations while driving cost efficiency? As our Alternate Underground Manager, you will be at the forefront of our Gwalia Underground mining operation, ensuring we meet our production and financial targets with the highest standards of safety stewardship and operational excellence.

- Collaborate: Work alongside contract partners, engineering, geology, and operations teams to craft effective mining strategies and forecasts.
- Evaluate: Conduct economic assessments of stoping zones to ensure financial viability and infrastructure readiness.
- Plan for Success: Compile life-of-mine plans by reviewing costs, cut-off grades, and unit cost calculations.
What You Bring:
- Essential Qualifications:
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
- Experience:
- Significant demonstrated post-graduate experience in operational mining management
- Comprehensive knowledge of the WH&S Act (2020) and Regulations (Mines) (2022)
- Expertise in large-scale underground mining operations, especially with paste backfill methodology
- Proven track record in managing mining contractors
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineering, survey, and leadership roles
- Desirable Skills:
- Senior Site Executive qualification as per WHSA 2020
- Proficiency in Deswik mine planning and scheduling packages
- Experience in implementing management operating systems (MOS) to promote top-tier mining performance
