Technology Support Specialist

As a Technology Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting our staff and ensuring smooth technological operations across the organization. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.82 to $25.36, depending on experience. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support during emergencies or special projects.

Founded in 1936 in a small trailer on paper mill property, Northwoods Credit Union began with five paper mill employees who had a vision of offering fairly priced financial products and excellent service to their hardworking coworkers. A Day in the Life of an NCU Technology Support Specialist
Each day begins with purpose and energy as you dive into supporting the credit union's staff both remotely and onsite. Our techs play a crucial role in supporting NCU's commitment to exceeding our member's expectations in providing reliable technology and exceptional service while handling confidential information with discretion and integrity. As the go-to resource for resolving technical issues, you'll review tickets and prioritize tasks while communicating clearly and professionally with staff at all levels. Whether troubleshooting a software glitch, setting up new hardware, or guiding a team member through a tech challenge, your ability to maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach while balancing multiple requests will ensure that systems run smoothly.
This role offers continuous learning and growth, with opportunities to expand your technical expertise and take ownership of impactful projects. You'll take pride in recommending and implementing system upgrades, coordinating infrastructure improvements, and researching emerging technologies that can enhance operations. Qualifications for a Technology Support Specialist
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED with technical experience
- Strong technology skills across multiple platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well organized and able to manage time effectively
- Good documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree in Computer Science, certification, training, or equivalent
- Technical support or IT administrative work experience
- Certification: A+, Net+, or Sec+
Experience with or knowledge of the following strongly preferred:
- Computer hardware and software
- Mobile devices and management
- Virtual environments, such as Hyper-V
- Windows Servers
- Windows Administrative Tools
- Group Policy
- Networking and Patch Management
- Multifunction Printers
- UPS systems
- Softphones
