Shipping & Receiving Associate
The primary function of this position is to provide shipping and receiving support to manufacturing, planning, and quality and warehouse operations.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables
- Prepare shipping documents, receiving documents and contracts.
- Inform customers by mail or telephone confirmation numbers for deliveries and shipments, shipping and receiving dates, and any anticipated delays.
- Maintain shipping and receiving dock schedules.
- Learn and stay in compliance with protocols and SOP’s.
- Manage time effectively to complete assignments in the expected time frame.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate with the Shipping-Receiving Manager all or any issues found in the Shipping-Receiving office.
- Operate a forklift to load, unload and move materials, as needed.
- Analyze and resolve or assist workers in solving daily work problems.
- Performing day-to-day tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Processing Information — compiling, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
- Documenting/Recording Information — entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
- File copies of orders received shipments and post orders on records.
- Maintain communication with planners and customers.
- Learning and using customer’s databases – SAP and Digital Supplier.
- Small pack shipments UPS, FedEx.
- Expected to be exposed to/trained in handling hazardous materials with annual refresher training.
- Maintain dock/door status (communicate w /VPL drivers)

- Incoming appointment lead time. Goal: 1 business days or less

Qualifications
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities
Education:
- A High School Diploma (or GED) with experience is required.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment or in a similar role.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a forklift.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong Mathematical abilities
- Must have effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Must have ability to work well under pressure.
Communication:
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.
- Must be able to stand / walk for an entire eight-hour shift. Occasional bending, crouching, and crawling
- Regular and constant use of finger, hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder.
- The work environment is a warehouse floor with many noises, beeping, and other mechanical devices.
- Able to see properly to fulfill expectations of position.
