CACI is currently looking for a motivated, career and customer-oriented DevOps Engineer with Agile methodology experience to join our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative 2.1 (ITI2.1) team in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development and hardware integration for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
As a member of the ITI2.1 Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP Officers and Border Patrol agents are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

What you’ll get to do:
The DevOps Engineer will gather requirements, codify and integrate secure solutions that support business functionality as well as the underlying infrastructure required to run and deploy those solutions and must be possess the following:
Lead the strategy, design, and optimization of continuous delivery systems, driving enhancements through advanced automation frameworks to ensure scalability, resilience, and security.
Direct and oversee integrated quality assurance testing initiatives, with a focus on validating security functionality, compliance, and resilience against evolving cyber threats.
Architect and enforce secure coding practices, proactively identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities in application and infrastructure codebases.
Establish and maintain enterprise coding and testing standards, lead security code reviews, implement advanced threat modeling practices, and guide teams in leveraging security testing tools.
Plan, coordinate, and lead penetration testing engagements for new or updated applications, ensuring findings are translated into actionable remediation plans.
Provide security architecture guidance during network and system design phases to ensure alignment with organizational security policies, data assurance requirements, and compliance frameworks.
Define and govern Source Code Management (SCM) processes, including code branching, merging, integration, and versioning best practices across enterprise development teams.
Serve as the escalation point for complex problem resolution, applying advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills to drive sustainable solutions.
Engage with and influence customers, executive stakeholders, developers, testers, and project managers to align security objectives with business goals.
Advise on and integrate advanced cryptographic solutions, secure communication protocols, and network/data communication standards into enterprise architectures.
Ensure enterprise adherence to industry regulations and standards, including NIST, FISMA, and Common Criteria, while shaping internal policy and compliance strategies.
Mentor and guide teams in multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., Java, .Net, Python, C++, Powershell, Bash, JavaScript, HTML, CSS), ensuring secure development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices are
You have:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria includes, but not limited to:
3-year check for felony convictions
1-year check for illegal drug use
1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Math or related field and 7 years of prior relevant software engineering or DevOps experience
Familiarity with software development life cycle models and agile programming methodologies
Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement in Sterling, VA
You’re good at:
Familiarity with the general IT practices and terminology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic; self-starter
Bonus would be having:
Technical Certifications
Experience working with Linux, Windows, and VMware
CEH, CISSP, CSSLP, GPEN, OSCP, AWS Solutions Architect, RHSA, GXPN, or GWAPT

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$113,200 - $237,800
