The Opportunity:
As our Controller, you’ll be the financial backbone of our operations—overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and partnering with leadership to guide smart business decisions.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including job cost accounting, AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings with precision and efficiency.
- Monitor project budgets, cost-to-complete, and variance analyses to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and industry-specific regulations.
- Partner with project managers and executives to forecast cash flow, track KPIs, and improve profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Implement and refine financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role—preferably in homebuilding or real estate development.
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and WIP reporting.
- Proficiency with construction-specific accounting software (e.g., Sage, Builder TREND, Hyphen) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
