Grain Handler/Truck Driver:
Grain Handler / Truck Driver – Summary
Primary Responsibilities:
- Safely load, unload, and transfer grain between locations.
- Maintain grain quality and track inventory.
- Operate and maintain delivery vehicles and grain handling equipment.
- Assist with feed truck driving and basic mechanical repairs.
Reporting & Communication:
- Submit accurate monthly trip reports.
- Communicate discrepancies, safety concerns, and potential opportunities to supervisor.
- Report unsafe conditions and equipment issues promptly.
Delivery Standards:
- Deliver grain safely, avoiding property damage and spillage.
- Follow safety protocols around farm structures and equipment.
- Ensure proper closure of bin doors and covers post-delivery.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Adhere to HACCP, FDA, OSHA, and other safety regulations.
- Maintain a valid CDL and follow traffic laws.
- Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained per schedule.
Safety & Conduct:
- Attend required safety meetings.
- Uphold company policies and promote teamwork.
- Maintain a professional image and positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Class A CDL or ability to complete ELDT.
- Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work long hours, climb heights, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, reaching, and handling.
- Occasional standing, sitting, kneeling, and lifting.
- Visual acuity for close and distance tasks.
