California Faucets is looking to bring on a talented 1st shift Water Bearing Lead. This role is based on site in our Huntington Beach, CA manufacturing facility. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 5:15 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

 

The Water-bearing Lead is a critical role within the company and has a direct impact on the quality and quantity of products that California Faucets provides to its customers. The primary purpose of this position is to fill customer orders by sorting, testing, and assembling components into completed plumbing faucets and fixtures. The Water-bearing Lead is responsible for setting the example, teaching, guiding, and assisting coworkers to successfully perform production operations. This role leads 10 - 15 employees in the Water-bearing testing and assembly process. Responsibilities include relaying direction from the supervisor to other team members, training, assigning, and directing work, providing input/assistance to the supervisor regarding the appraisal of employee performance, resolving problems, and continuously improving processes and procedures. 

 
 

When performing these jobs, the following activities are required:

 
 

· Assembling plumbing systems and fixtures (spouts, valves, showerheads, etc.).

· Completing inventory transactions in the company inventory management system.

· Water pressure and flow testing on required assemblies.

· Inspection of finished and subassembly components to conform to quality standards.

· Responding to exception scenarios from team members.

· Notifying supervisor of quality variances and parts shortages.

· Operating hand tools and push carts.

· Carrying or transporting orders to different staging areas utilizing material handling equipment.

· Reading and counting accurately, performing simple math, writing legibly.

· Scanning tickets into the ERP computer system and retrieving order information.

· Performing corrective maintenance on water systems such as valves and blow-offs.

· Teaching, guiding, overseeing, and organizing employees to complete the preparation of production units.

· Promoting cooperation and positive communication with co-workers.

· Overseeing the day-to-day functions of an assigned department/work area by providing guidance and direction.

· Coordinating efforts with other departments throughout the organization to complete products in a timely manner.

· Assisting supervisor/manager in the planning the layout of the assigned work area.

· Performing additional assignments per management direction.

Requirements

Environmental and Safety Considerations:

· Possible exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moderate noise when working indoors.

· May be required to work with adhesives, power tools, forced air.

 
 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directly leads, coaches, and trains a team of 10-15 Water-bearing testers and assemblers. He/she is responsible for safety initiatives, achieving department metrics, and overall team performance. He/she must be able to teach, guide and direct other employees who may need assistance. 

 
 

People Interface:

The position requires contact both within the department and between departments on routine matters. Occasionally interfaces with management team at multiple levels of the organization. 

 
 

Decision Making:

The position requires working from detailed instructions as well as the use of judgment to plan and execute decisions to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.

 
 

Supervision Received:

Under general supervision, assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Follows established procedures for routine work. Able to propose solutions and independently make decisions within a framework agreed upon with direct supervisor.

 
 

Accountabilities:

After adequate training, the position requires a level of accountability to complete a pre-determined amount of work, or units completed per shift. Also accountable for the performance of the team.

 
 

Education and Experience:

The minimum educational requirement to successfully perform this position is a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. Someone entering this position should have at least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing similar work in a related field and at least one (1) year of leadership experience.

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger. The employee is frequently required to stand extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms below and above shoulder; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist or crawl. The employee may be required to lift/carry 1-50 pounds when necessary. The employee must be able to visually identify small finish imperfections.
