Additional Information: Show/Hide Gallup Hill School is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services to support their access to and progress in general education, including the implementation of appropriate accommodations. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to instruct students commensurate with their learning level, individual needs and learning rate. In addition, the candidate will have knowledge or experience implementing inclusive practices at the elementary level.
Qualifications:
Connecticut Special Education Certification required (165, 065 or 265)
Knowledge of and ability to design and implement specialized instruction for students based on their needs and abilities as outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as well as to support access to general education
Ability to design and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications for students to successfully engage in the learning environment
Conducts interesting and well-paced lessons for students, using a variety of instructional techniques, strategies and materials.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and/or social development
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
Demonstrated ability to write accurate and thorough assessment reports, IEP’s and progress reports
Ability to positively engage teachers, students and families in the learning process
Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students
Ability to use data to make instructional decisions
Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and paraprofessionals
