About the position: As an Occupational Therapist at Madison Health, you will be responsible for evaluation, treatment planning, treatment and discharge planning of patients who have lost their ability to perform daily functions and tasks. This is a PRN position.  This position will treat In-patient and out-patient adults and pediatrics.  No weekends or holidays required. 

Key job qualities/duties:

  • Evaluates the patient’s condition upon referral.  Integrates data from a variety of assessment techniques to create a customized treatment plan including short term and long term goals.  
  • Provides safe and effective occupational therapy treatment incorporating physical, mental, social and emotional components to achieve improved quality of life and a sense of independence.  Demonstrates the ability to apply accurate therapeutic principles and practices. Uses appropriate technical knowledge and clinical judgment in observing patient’s reactions to treatments. 
  • Completes documentation and billing timely to maximize compensation of occupational therapy treatment.  Tracks personal performance to support efficient and effective care.
  • Demonstrates open and effective communication with other health care providers, patients and families.  Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.  Ensures confidentiality of patient records.  Interacts professionally with patients and families and provides explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary.
  • Maintains and operates equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and correctly.  Follows department procedures for sterilizing equipment. Manages the facilities, materials, equipment and time necessary to the delivery of services.
  • Exhibits knowledge of and complies with state, federal and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) regulations as they pertain to this position and department. Performs occupational therapy treatment abiding to the laws, rules, and code of ethics as established by the AOTA.

What qualifications are we looking for?

  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment required
