SwissRe Corporate Solutions is seeking a Property Underwriter to join its North American Retail Property Team in Alpharetta.  The position will be located in our Alpharetta, GA office. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office (or with a client) three days per week on average. 

 

North American Retail Property is a foundational line of business for SwissRe Corporate Solutions that is at the core of our strong brand in the retail property market place.   Risk transfer solutions offered through this channel vary from ground up quota share, shared and layered, and single carrier placements.   This team also works with our alternative risk transfer to structure innovative and unique risk transfer solutions for our clients and brokers. 

 

 

About the Role:

 

This is a production underwriting role that requires:

 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients and team members
  • Maintaining a renewal book of business as well as marketing and originating prospects
  • Technical analysis of manmade and NATCAT property exposures as well as policy terms and pricing metrics
  • Structuring capacity deployment and negotiating key terms that align with our underwriting strategy

About You:

 

We are looking for a highly motivated self starter that can work independently as well part of our team.  To be successful, you need to have strong communication, negotiation and partnering skill and you must be eager to learn and develop your property underwriting skills.    

 

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience in property underwriting of medium to large corporates - or - 7 to 10 years experience for Senior Underwriter
  • Strong broker and client network and a willingness to build and maintain new relationships
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple deals and assignments at the same time
  • Positive attitude and pro-active approach to daily tasks. 

 

The role may require up to 20% travel. 

 

The estimated base salary range for the Underwriter level is $108,000 to $160,000 and the Senior Underwriter level is $150,000 to $220,000.  The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
