Description
- Assists in contractor orientation and site-specific training.
- Participate in a safety committee.
- Facilitate, conduct, and document safety training for new miners.
- Verify and document that all employees receive thorough task-specific training.
- Coach employees on safety observations and inspections.
- Be a resource for employees with safety questions or concerns.
- Assist employees to improve their workplace exam process and the identification of potential MSHA hazards.
- Facilitate and conduct assigned safety training in accordance with Part 46 as assigned by production and safety management.
- Organize and Participate in assigned plant safety audits.
- Track results and follow up on all action items in the safety tracker.
- Assist in gathering information for safety incident investigations.
- Assist in the development of annual refresher training and participate in the training process.
- Participates in helping achieve department goals, objectives, and implementation of safety systems.
- Provide coverage as needed for guest check-in area.
- Participates in MSHA inspections.
- Develops standard work.
- Conducts training using standard work and other training materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Mining or heavy industry a plus.
- High level of integrity
- Motivated team player
- Capacity for learning new skills.
- General knowledge of safety.
- Able to teach, train, and lead safety in groups and one-on-one setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility.
- Must be proficient with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Must be willing to work shifts and overtime when required to perform training.
- Ability and willingness to work without constant direct supervision.
- Ability to prioritize workload in an efficient manner.
- Excellent safety record throughout his career.
