Job Summary
The Cook at Burnt Pine Country Club is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards. This position ensures an exceptional dining experience for members and guests through consistent execution, attention to detail, and a passion for culinary excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and member preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food items to meet health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Assist with menu development, daily specials, and banquet/event food preparation as needed.
- Work collaboratively with fellow cooks, chefs, and servers to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Control waste and portion sizes to maintain cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for inventory replenishment.
- Follow all resort and departmental policies, including safety and sanitation procedures.
- Provide support for private events, fine dining service, and special functions at Burnt Pine Country Club.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience required; fine dining or country club experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Culinary degree or certification preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in hot, fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and sharp utensils.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying.
