Job Summary:

Provides leadership for Production groups and maintains good communication through all management levels. The incumbent oversees developing effective strategies to increase production efficiency and output. Incumbents must be able to use Production Planning tools in EPICOR and other supporting tools. Coordinate effective meetings with other team leaders to ensure deadlines are both reasonable and met in a timely manner. Ensure efficient outputs are met by following the Production Schedule. 

 

Scope of Responsibility: 

Responsible for the effective operation of the Production groups through the coordination of tasks, implementation of strategies and monitoring of performance.  Includes the direct leadership of the Value Stream Manager, Production Supervisors, and other specified production support groups. Works with other Leaders to ensure shared resources are utilized effectively and efficiently. The incumbent is responsible for self-direction of his/her work with very limited supervision. Works within established procedures but also makes judgment calls based on analysis of data, skills, and experience related to Production Plan.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach individuals within Production group.   
  • Communicate a clear vision to the teams to ensure meeting the production plan. 
  • Work with the Production groups, to develop a production plan to support the overall company and team goals.  This plan should include resource allocation, production planning process, department layout, process flow, equipment utilization, etc.
  • Establish an organizational structure that allows team members to understand and achieve the goals of the Production group.
  •  Work effectively and efficiently with other groups and support the overall company strategies by striving for continuous improvement of yourself, your groups and work processes.  
  • Develop and maintain effective and actionable KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) that are used to continually improve the processes and performance of the Production groups.
  • Work together with the Sales and Planning teams to communicate daily priorities and updates regarding customer orders. 
  • Work together with the New Production Implementation (NPI) and Sales teams on creating and executing a plan to onboard new products and customers.   
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

 

  • This job requires a 4-year college degree along with some technical training, or equivalent experience.  
  • Three to five years’ leadership experience required; leading production operations. 
  • Must have problem solving, time management and good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Previous experience in a multicultural environment is a plus. 
  • Must be able to give and receive constructive criticism in an emotionally mature manner and be able to work well with a variety of individuals.
