About the Role:

The IT Intern role within Ohana Pacific Health is designed to provide hands-on experience in supporting and maintaining the organization's information technology infrastructure. The intern will contribute to ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems that are critical to patient care and administrative functions. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and common operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare technology and willingness to learn about healthcare regulations and data privacy.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Health Information Systems (HIS).
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices relevant to healthcare data protection.
  • Previous internship or project experience in an IT support or healthcare technology role.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar credentials.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining computer systems, networks, and software applications used within the healthcare setting.
  • Support the IT team in troubleshooting hardware and software issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service availability.
  • Help with the installation, configuration, and updating of IT equipment and software according to organizational policies and compliance standards.
  • Participate in documenting IT processes, procedures, and user guides to enhance knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technology needs related to patient care, data management, and administrative tasks.
