Job Summary:
The Sourcing Specialist is expected to perform other duties in conjunction with other employees and departments contributing to the overall team effort, efficient process and safe working environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the quoting process for new programs, including reviewing part drawings, require samples, and analyzing supplier quotes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to optimize costs and improve value for the organization. Verify that suppliers meet the technical requirements of the parts.
- Check if suppliers are listed in the Approved Supplier List (ASL) in the system.
- Notify corporate sourcing when a vendor is not on the ASL and request assistance in identifying new suppliers.
- Prepare necessary documents for the approval process of including new suppliers.
- Participate in the process of creating new items in the system, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Manage and update the ERP system with relevant sourcing information.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the system.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through research, supplier visits, and attending industry events.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Plan and coordinate participation in industry events, trade shows, and supplier meetings to identify potential new suppliers.
- Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to stay informed about market trends and opportunities.
- Provide support in customer meetings, presenting sourcing plans and addressing any concerns related to supply chain management.
- Create supply chain maps for new programs, providing visibility into components, vendors, and lead times.
- Classify items in the BOM and participate in vendor risk assessment analysis to identify high-risk and medium-risk items.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans for high-risk items and strategies for managing medium-risk items.
- Participate in the review of procurement processes and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with procedures, and work instructions requirements in all purchasing activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the purchasing function.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required for this position.
- 2-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or a related field
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, and Power Point.
- Must have attention to detail.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player, self-motivated.

ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally
- Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
- Travel by air or car occasionally
