Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist with a strong focus on employee benefits administration, workers’ compensation case management, and payroll support. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and compliant HR operations while providing exceptional support to employees and managers. The HR Generalist will serve as a key point of contact for benefit inquiries, leave management, payroll processing assistance, and workplace injury reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits enrollment, eligibility, and claims.
Support annual open enrollment, including system updates, communications, and employee assistance.
Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other regulations.
Workers’ Compensation & Leave Management
Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and act as a liaison between employees, management, insurance providers, and healthcare professionals.
Manage the reporting and tracking of workplace injuries, ensuring timely filing and follow-up.
Assist with leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state-specific leaves, and company policies.
Monitor return-to-work programs and support reasonable accommodations.
Payroll Support
Assist payroll team in reviewing and verifying timesheets, deductions, and payroll changes for accuracy.
Support the processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll by preparing employee updates, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws.
Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, taxes, and deductions.
Collaborate with Finance/Accounting on payroll reconciliations and audits.
General HR Support
Maintain HRIS and personnel files, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Assist with compliance reporting (EEO, OSHA, ACA, etc.).
Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Support HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of HR experience with an emphasis on benefits, workers’ compensation, and/or payroll support.
Knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, wage & hour laws).
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service mindset.
