Volunteer Position

Time Commitment

Positions Available:

Head of Academics: 

  • Plan and execute a new academic event in the Fall Semester (Ex. Research Fair)
  • Lead in the planning of the annual Career Conference (Winter Semester)
  • Delegate tasks to committee members for event planning

Academics Committee Member x2: 

  • Assist in the planning and execution of a new academic event in the Fall Semester (Ex. Research Fair)
  • Assist in the planning of the annual Career Conference (Winter Semester)

Head of Special Events: 

  • Plan and execute 2 non-academic academic events in the Fall Semester (Ex. Bevs with Profs) and 2 in the Winter Semester
  • Lead in the planning a DSC Formal
  • Collaborating with other DSCs on events
  • Delegate tasks to committee members for event planning

Special Events Committee Member x2: 

  • Assist in the planning and execution of 2 non-academic academic events in the Fall Semester (Ex. Bevs with Profs) and 2 in the Winter Semester 
  • Assist in planning a DSC Formal
  • Collaborating with other DSCs on events

Head of Marketing: 

  • Coordinate a Sticker Designing Competition + Sale with the help of the Co-Presidents
  • Create consistent, interactive, and captivating content for the socials
  • Promote Giveaways
  • Delegate tasks to committee members for graphic designing

Marketing Committee Member x2: 

  • Participate in the planning of a Sticker Designing Competition + Sale
  • Create consistent, interactive, and captivating content for the socials
  • Promote Giveaways
  • Create new ideas to increase social media presence 

Head of EDII: 

  • Work closely with all committees to verify the accessibility and feasibility of the event
  • Collaborate with student clubs and services to bring forth new initiatives (Workshops, Check-Ins, Speakers, etc.)
  • Act as the DBMS Undergraduate EDII Representative
  • Delegate tasks to committee members

EDII Committee Member x2: 

  • Assist in reviewing event accessibility and feasibility
  • Bring forth new initiatives (Workshops, Check-Ins, Speakers, etc.)
  • Assist in the improvement of sustainability within events

Year Representatives x2 (per year): 

  • First Year: 
    • Promote events and increase student engagement, 
    • Act as a liaison between the biochemistry students and the DSC, 
    • Create Exam Bundles for Fall and Winter Semesters. 
  • Second Year: 
    • Promote events and increase student engagement
    • Act as a liaison between the biochemistry students and the DSC
    • Plan and execute 1 Executive Team Bonding event per semester
  • Third Year: 
    • Promote events and increase student engagement
    • Act as a liaison between the biochemistry students and the DSC
    • Assist in Second Year Review Sessions (Fall and Winter Semesters)
    • Assist in Majors Night
  • Fourth Year: 
    • Promote events and increase student engagement
    • Act as a liaison between the biochemistry students and the DSC
    • Plan a Welcome to Biochemistry event (Fall Semester)
    • Coordinate Sweater Sales with the help of the Co-Presidents
    • Assist in Third Year Review Sessions (Fall and Winter Semesters).
