Hybrid Facilities Technician at Speedway Motorsports

The Facilities Technician is a full-time position in the Operations Department who continuously ensures BMS/BD and its facilities are in top condition. The candidate will also be a productive and proactive self-starter who is passionate about his/her duties and willing to put forth the extra effort to achieve excellence. This position will support an execute various cleaning and facility preparations based on special daily and event needs. During non-event times the Facilities Technician will complete various projects and maintenance relative to the following functions and responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL PREFERENCES:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Able to operate forklift and aerial lift as needed
• Ability to operate handheld power tools
• Able to lift at least 30 lbs. on a frequent basis
• Able to climb on ladders and scaffolding as needed
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and variable schedules
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
NON-EVENT TIME:
• Perform cleaning of restrooms, buildings inside and exterior and common areas/grounds
• Garbage pickup and monitoring in line with daily cleaning duties
• Operate pressure washer on concourses, buildings, roofs, apron logo removal, etc.
• Monitor facility needs and make recommendations, repairs, maintenance, or special projects known to the Director of Operations and VP of Operations
• Ensure proper storage of all tools and equipment not currently in use to protect and prolong lifecycles
• Operate and maintain equipment (such as, sweepers, pressure washers, aerial lifts, trucks, etc.)
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall excellence of the organization
EVENT TIME:
Functions for major events include but are not limited to:
• Help ensuring all areas of the facility are properly cleaned and maintained (parking lots, campgrounds, restrooms, ticket booths, buildings, elevators, concourse, suites, etc.)
• Monitor all portable restroom and shower facilities to ensure proper operation and cleanliness
• Ensure all areas of facility are guest ready and clean prior to gates opening daily
• Assist in ice rink and light show installation and removal
• Assist in daily cleaning efforts of winter events (Speedway in Lights & Ice Rink)
HOURS OF WORK
NON-EVENT TIME
• Normal Business hours are typically 8 hours a day, Monday – Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm). Some weekends and evenings will be necessary based on business needs.
EVENT TIME
• Business hours during race time may increase up to 14 or more hours a day, Monday – Friday with weekend requirements.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Travel to other Speedway Motorsports tracks may be necessary. It is not anticipated that this would exceed 10% of the time.
