Supervisor: Mr. Darrin Wills, Director of Transportation Employment Period: 12 Months (5 hours/day) Employment Status: Part-time Pay Grade: H-10 Hiring range: $17.01 -- $22.39 Start Date: As soon as possible
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generates, processes, and closes all repair work orders using appropriate software program. Enters information accurately and efficiently.
Orders, receives, stores, and issues light and heavy duty parts used in the bus garage. Works closely with mechanics and Shop Manager to ensure that correct parts are ordered and kept on hand. Inspects parts and materials purchased for quality control and conformity to specifications.
Estimates stock and inventory needs for parts and supplies based on usage history. Maintains large number of parts catalogs and cross reference catalogs to ascertain those parts which are interchangeable from one manufacturer to another.
Assists in developing sources of supply in cooperation with buyers. Assists in reviewing and evaluating vendor bids for parts, supplies, and specialized repair in contract work and makes recommendations based on evaluations.
Performs related work as required or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Some knowledge of nomenclature of automotive and related parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs of light and heavy duty vehicles preferred.
Ability to maintain electronic inventory records and files.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
