POSITION TITLE: PART-TIME INTERVENTION COACH (MTSS) – 190 Day Calendar
LOCATION: Smokey Road Middle School
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work with administrative team and staff to develop and implement academic and behavior interventions and proactive
multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) strategies that help ensure the success of all students.
Major Responsibilities:
Help serve as coach for the MTSS Framework. Assist administration in monitoring data collection and implementation of MTSS academic and behavioral interventions. Work with appropriate staff to conduct MTSS assessment of student needs. Work with the administrative team to develop initiatives and implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Provide training and ongoing support to classroom teachers and support staff regarding MTSS interventions in the classroom. Provide on-going staff observation and feedback related to MTSS intervention strategies. Participate in transition planning for students as needed. Promote parental involvement in the school/school conferences and parental responsibility for regular school attendance. Expand and exchange knowledge through consultation with coordinators, specialists, psychologists, counselors, and other colleagues. Assist with daily supervision including after school events. Any other duties as prescribed by the principal and/or designee.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia clear, renewable teaching certificate.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to organize, coordinate, plan, and direct the implementation of a comprehensive MTSS and PBIS program. Proficiency required in oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, and competency in counseling and evaluating student needs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Successful teacher training, counseling and/or teaching experiences.
SALARY SCHEDULE: Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule at 190 days. The Coweta County Board of Education reserves the right to accept equivalent
qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.
