PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Teach Government and World History. Responsible for planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, and evaluating student progress toward learning goals. Accountable for creating a positive and productive classroom learning environment. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Participate in District and Building Professional Development opportunities. Implementation of High School Social Studies/History curriculum. Communicate effectively with parents on student comprehension and progress. Support High School building improvement plan.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Current Missouri Certification in Social Studies/History Grades 9-12. Experience teaching AP courses is preferred. A strong knowledge of End-of-Course (EOC) examinations, Missouri Learning Standards, and effective instructional strategies. Coaching opportunities are available. Willingness to collaborate with peers. Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
