Glaukos – Director, Patient Access Liaison (PAL) Program


We’re seeking an experienced leader to direct our nationwide Patient Access Liaison (PAL) Program, ensuring patients receive timely, compassionate support in navigating insurance, logistics, and financial resources. This role sets the strategic vision, drives operational excellence, and leads a high-performing field team while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

What Will You Do: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a field-based PAL team to meet performance and patient experience goals.
  • Set program strategy and align with corporate market access priorities.
  • Oversee patient education on insurance navigation, pharmacy coordination, treatment logistics, and financial assistance.
  • Ensure seamless coordination with HUB services, specialty pharmacies, and patient support programs.
  • Monitor compliance with HIPAA, FDA, OIG, and SOP standards.
  • Collaborate across functions to remove access barriers and inform brand strategies.

How Will You Get Here: 

  • 12+ years in patient access, reimbursement, or case management; 5+ years managing field teams.
  • Therapeutic Expertise: Background in pharma/biotech/specialty pharmacy/HCP settings; rare disease or ophthalmology experience preferred.
  • Insurance & Reimbursement Mastery: Advanced knowledge of benefit verification, prior authorizations, appeals, exclusions, out-of-network navigation, and medical necessity reviews; strong understanding of buy-and-bill/physician-administered therapies and coding (CPT/HCPCS, incl. Category III & unlisted J-codes).
  • Proven success in scaling patient support programs and leveraging CRM tools (Salesforce, PowerBI).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or PACS certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; bilingual a plus.
