Qualifications:

· C.N.A. Certification preferred

· Experienced in a Long Term Care facility preferred

· Prior scheduling experience preferred

· Knowledge of scheduling software a plus

· Good computer skills

· Good mathematical skills

· Good communication skills

· Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language.

· Garner respect and facilitate motivation with staff. Physical Requirements:

· Must have good hand dexterity and be able to utilize a computer.

· Must be able to move items of at least 20 pounds.

· Must be able to propel a resident in a wheelchair.

· Must be able to assist residents in evacuating the building in an emergency. Position Expectations:

· Monthly Schedule will be posted two weeks in advance, as per law.

· The Scheduling Coordinator’s main function is to supervise the process, which ensures consistent nursing staffing within the facility. The Scheduling Coordinator works with the R.N./L.P.N./C.N.A. staff to coordinate work schedules, time off, and shift coverage when staff are ill. The Scheduling Coordinator must have the ability to utilize the Company’s scheduling system. The Scheduling Coordinator’s communication skills are necessary in promoting a teamwork environment amongst all staff. This is especially desirable when staff need extra support during periods of challenged staffing within the facility.

· The Scheduling Coordinator is expected to manage the staffing schedule and to oversee the process on a 24-hour/7 day a week system. The Scheduling Coordinator is expected to maintain the staffing schedule for each shift and monitor overtime utilization. The Scheduling Coordinator communicates key issues to the DON for support and guidance. It is not the responsibility to be on call 24/7 even though it is the responsibility to create scheduling for all shifts. Any call offs that happen after the scheduler clocks out is the responsibility of nurse management in the facility. Therefore, communication with the DON and nursing management on off shifts is key.

Position Responsibilities:.

· Supervise the staffing schedule for each shift

· Monitor and log call ins from nursing staff

· Review labor and staffing each morning during the staffing meeting with the Administrator, DON and HR.

· Communicate all open positions to HR for recruiting.

· Monitor the overtime utilization and make adjustments accordingly

· Report overtime utilization variances and subsequent action plans to the

DON and HR during morning labor meetings.

· The Scheduler is responsible for implementing the facility’s Culture Contract components through their interaction and implementation of their role with residents, families and staff

· Assist other team members when necessary

· All other duties as assigned


Pay starting at $20-$26/hour depending on experience
