The purpose of the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Substitute Instructor is to provide instructional coverage in the absence of the regular instructor. The EMR Substitute Instructor will deliver career and technical education aligned with the established EMR curriculum, ensuring continuity of instruction in areas such as emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMRs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma care, and special considerations for the prehospital setting. Additional instructional and classroom-related duties may be assigned as needed.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Three (3) years of Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree highly desirable.
CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
Possession of a valid CA CTE 30-day substitute teaching permit or valid CA Designated Subjects or CTE credential. (See link on right for further credential information.)
