What You’ll Do: As the Life Operations Director you will be the primary leader overseeing the life and annuity new business operational areas. Additionally, this role will play an active role in overall life company leadership functions including committee involvement, working group participation, and life company leadership meetings. You will also be responsible for developing performance metrics, identifying gaps, and implementing action plans as needed to ensure performance standards are consistently met. Additional responsibilities would include:
- Review and update Farm Bureau Life processing procedures and proactively implement process improvements to improve service or department efficiency.
- Respond to and provide resolutions for agent and policyholder questions through telephone conversations, email communications and written correspondence.
- Ensure all department activities and policy processing comply with federal and state laws, tax regulations, contract language, company policy, SEC Rule 38a-1 and IMSA guidelines.
- Assist in setting priority for enhancements to the Life Admin. system (FAST) by the production support team. Effectively communicate with Stakeholders the status of enhancement. Work with the FAST project team to coordinate work and test plans.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
- College degree or equivalent plus 10 years of business experience - including supervisory/leadership, as well as experience in the life insurance business experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, team orientation, interpersonal, and technical/business/industry related skills to build relationships at all levels within an organization.
- Effective leadership skills and demonstrated success in leading, facilitating and managing strategic planning initiatives required.
- Strong customer service skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and shift priorities to achieve corporate and business unit goals.
- Must have the ability to mentor and coach project teams for successful integration of new services or products.
- Must keep up to date regarding existing and pending local, state, and federal rules and regulations to ensure government compliance and meet company guidelines.
