Hybrid Food Service Equipment Technician at Livingston Parish School Dist

Livingston Parish Public Schools is taking applications for a Food Service Equipment Technician. Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of commercial food service equipment across 40+ school sites. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, steamers, freezers, mixers, warmers, coolers, etc.).
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions of various types of kitchen and refrigeration systems.
• Repair, replace, and/or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing-related equipment issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Willingness to work call-outs, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications Include:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license.
• Universal EPA certification for refrigerants.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial food service equipment repair preferred.
• Ability to operate a computer and assigned software.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
